Eleanor Petry is a Polish-American multidisciplinary artist whose work focuses on photography, film direction and writing. At a young age she began taking photographs of her siblings providing a level of connection and comfort in front of and behind the camera. Later, her innocent eye was recognized by a local photographer who taught Eleanor the techniques of analog and digital journalistic photography. Scattered throughout her work are subtle conversations that focus on emotion, connection, and the loneliness of being human.

In August of 2014 Eleanor was in a bicycle accident which put her in a three-day coma and resulted in a broken neck as well as a Traumatic Brain Injury. Her experience facing death not only changed her life but continually affects her art, which among other things encompasses loss, and the idea of departing from love.
